In view of linking key members of the Civil Society Organizations (CSO)/Community Leaders and Local Government Officers with the National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF), a consultative meeting was conducted on 20 April 2023 at Hotel Ramadha Colombo as a further step under IMPACT project entitled in "Strengthening Government and CSO Capacity to Combat Trafficking in Persons and Create Greater Impact" which was implemented with the close collaboration of NAHTTF. This program was fully sponsored by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Sri Lanka.
The program commenced with an opening remark by Ms. Minoli P. Don, Head of protection Unit, IOM Sri Lanka and key note speech delivered by Major General JR Kulathunga, Chief of National Intelligence, empathizing the importance of public awareness on Human Trafficking.
The program was conducted with two sessions which Local Government Officers and members of community watch groups and representatives from District Anti Trafficking Forums were connected through virtual platform during the second session followed by a Q & A session.
Finally, the program was concluded by discussing the way forward.
