BILATERAL MEETING WITH CO- MANAGER (AUSTRALIA) OF REGIONAL SUPPORT OFFICE - BALI PROCESS

On 28 November 2023, National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force had a Bilateral meeting with Mr. David Scott, the Co-Manager (Australia) of Regional Support Office- Bali Process, also Mr. Will Legge, Programme Coordinator of the Regional Support Office, Bali process participated at the event.

Major General Ruwan Kulatunga, Chief of National Intelligence (CNI) and the Head of the officials Committee of National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force explained the role of the NAHTTF and emphasized the acute requirement of partnership and collaboration with the Regional Support Office, Bali process and Sri Lanka in the fight against the Trafficking in Persons.

In line with same, both parties highlighted the requirement of capacity building of the members of NAHTTF, in order to minimize the gap between the local and international best practices in human trafficking and human smuggling.

Further, Mr. David Scott appreciated the Sri Lankan mechanism and effort to counter the Human trafficking with the contribution of 21 stake holders of the NAHTTF.
