STRENGTHENING HOTLINE OPERATIONS TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING: 1 ST TWO-DAY PROGRAMME OUT OF SERIES OF PROGRAMME EMPOWERS OPERATORS

The National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF) recently concluded a two-day programme aimed at enhancing the capacity of hotline operators in combating human trafficking collaborated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on 24th and 25th April 2024. The programme focused on hotline operators with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively combat anti-human trafficking activities and improve their proficiency in hotline operations.

Participating in this initiative were exchange operators from the Ministry of Defence, 1997 hotline operators from the Police Special Branch, operators from the 109 Hotline of The Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children & Women, and hotline operators from the National Authority for the Protection of Victims of Crime and Witnesses. This diverse representation highlighted a collaborative effort to address human trafficking comprehensively.

At the end of the workshop, hotline operators emerged with enhanced their wisdom, a deeper understanding of human trafficking dynamics, and strengthened coordination mechanisms. This initiative represents a significant step forward in the fight against human trafficking, fostering proactive and coordinated action to protect vulnerable individuals and uphold human rights.
