NEW ZEALAND DELEGATION VISITS NAHTTF TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION ON 16 JULY 2025 – COLOMBO

The National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF) had the privilege of hosting a delegation from New Zealand on 16 July 2025, for a focused discussion on enhancing cooperation in the fight against human trafficking.

The meeting highlighted mutual interests in addressing irregular travel, customs and security trends, and strengthening capabilities in risk detection and prevention. Both parties shared valuable insights, best practices, and current challenges in combating human trafficking, with a shared commitment to deepening collaboration and joint response strategies.

In line with the National Strategic Action Plan to Monitor and Combat Human Trafficking (2021–2025), this engagement underscores NAHTTF’s commitment to working with international partners to address the global nature of human trafficking and to promote safer, more secure mobility.

The delegation included officials from the New Zealand High Commissions in Bangkok (Thailand) and Jakarta (Indonesia), as well as representatives from New Zealand Customs Services accredited to Sri Lanka.

NAHTTF extends its sincere appreciation to our colleagues from New Zealand for their visit and looks forward to continued collaboration in this critical area of shared responsibility.
