Rear Admiral Brett Sonter, Commander of the Joint Agency Task Force Operation Sovereign Borders (JATF-OSB), met with the National Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF) together with senior government officials responsible for addressing human smuggling and trafficking, including designated task force focal points.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen liaison, enhance strategic communication, and support community engagement in combating human trafficking and related crimes.
During the discussions, the NAHTTF provided a briefing on ongoing anti-trafficking efforts in Sri Lanka. Both sides also explored potential areas for future collaboration, with a particular focus on information sharing, strengthening cross-border cooperation, and developing broader joint initiatives to address evolving challenges in human trafficking and human smuggling.
