REPRESENTATIVES FROM SAFE FOUNDATION MEETS NATIONAL ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE (NAHTTF)

On 19 August 2022, the NAHTTF held another fruitful interaction at the Ministry of Defence with the representatives from the Safe Foundation with the aim of strengthening the partnership and collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and Civil Society Organizations (CSO) who combat human trafficking issues in Sri Lanka.

On behalf of the Secretary Defence and Chairman of the NAHTTF, Major General JR Kulatunga (Retd), the Chief of National Intelligence, presided over the meeting with the participation of members of the NAHTTF and Mr. Harsha Jayarathna-Executive Director, Ms. Neluni Thilakarathna-Project Director, Mr. Udhana Randeer Kumara Galgamuwa-Regional Manager for North Central Province, Mr. Niranga Sumith-Regional Director for North Western Province from Safe Foundation.

Discussion was based on successful implementation of the Safe Foundation’s five year project called Empowering CSOs to Combat Human Trafficking in Sri Lanka (ECCT) supported by United States International Agency for Development (USAID). For this project, Safe Foundation is partnering with 4 other organizations across 12 districts in 6 provinces and as the salient body to combat human trafficking in Sri Lanka, the NAHTTF elaborated the readiness to assisting the project.
